Bigbank AS became a member of the Estonian Banking Association
Special bank Bigbank AS, which is fully based on Estonian capital and represented in nine countries, joined the Estonian Banking Association and from now on, there are 13 members in the association representing the interests of banks. The Estonian Banking Association is a member of the European Banking Federation.
“Bigbank wants to support and contribute to all of its operating states to help to achieve the field’s strategic objectives both on the local and the pan-European level,” said Sven Raba, Chairman of the Management Board of Bigbank. “Membership in important professional associations helps us to acquire necessary information and contribute in influencing and developing various processes”.
“The Estonian Banking Association considers it important that the Estonian banking sector is trustworthy and transparent in the eyes of both Estonian and foreign partners,” said Sven Raba. “Bigbank shares this opinion, as well as other values and principles of the Estonian Banking Association.”
According to the Chairman of the Management Board of Bigbank, the reputation of the sector and the trust of the customers are equally important for the health of the banking market. “The consumers’ confidence in banks is one of the main pillars of banking. To offer a good service, banks must be in compliance with the regulatory requirements applicable to all banks, and the Estonian Banking Association assists in this with its support and activities as one of its main goals,” said Sven Raba.
